From your first shots and basic safety, to an introduction to competitive shooting, virtual dryfire sessions, or general improvement in gun handling and marksmanship, I will work with you to identify and achieve your training goals.
Training and recreational shooting is fun and safe when the basic rules of firearms safety are followed (NRA version below).
- ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction
- ALWAYS keep your finger off of the trigger until ready to shoot
- ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use
What is dryfire?
Dryfire (aka dry practice) is practicing firearm skills with no live ammunition present. In fact, keep your ammo in another room while dryfiring – this is something you triple check before you begin. Please note all the usual firearms safety rules still apply.
Dryfire is a great way to work on most gun handling skills without the distraction of recoil or cost of firing live ammunition. All of the top competitive shooters dryfire to hone their skills in addition to their live fire practice.
If you would like an introduction to dryfire, I will virtually walk you through safety, how to set up, targets, draw, drills, and movement to help you prepare for competition or everyday firearm familiarity.
Already familiar with dryfire and looking to improve? With a private virtual dryfire session, I will offer feedback and suggest new drills to enhance your practice.
Live fire at the range
Live fire means shooting with real ammunition. I will meet you at a local range and work with you to achieve your session goals. These sessions are limited to the area around Morris County, NJ.
Group Classes
I teach group classes at local ranges, most recently Introduction to USPSA. Keep an eye out for class offerings. If you would like me to offer Intro to Practical Shooting (USPSA) or NRA Basic Pistol at your range feel free to contact me.
